Scope: Lead Designer - Concept & Interior Design

Description: For beer wholesalers Cave Direct’s first tap room venue, we were given the perfect canvas, a former book wholesalers warehouse, with exposed steel beams, original exposed brick and concrete floor throughout two huge rooms of approximately 300sqm. The design compliments this existing fabric, highlights the subtle details and provides the environment expected of a brewers tap room. Key design features include a new raised seating area, which helps break up the vast space, whilst offering operational flexibility. We also installed a feature bar counter faced with used barrel staves, a hexagonal tiled tap wall, and walls of bottle display chillers, to show off the hundreds of beers available. The second phase of the project will see the creation of a beer blendery, where breweries will come together to create unique and creative beers. Hackney Wick is now well known for its growing media and arts communities, and is fast-becoming one of London’s most creative and dynamic business hubs.
